The lipstick collection invites reflection on the nature of the human quest for the ideal. In this participatory work, the public is invited to bring pink lipsticks with the goal of finding the "perfect pink lipstick." Each new contribution reinforces the idea that this perfection, this imagined ideal, is never fully attainable. As we get closer to what we think is the ideal, we realize that the meaning of this goal fades, or that it never had the value we projected onto it. Thus, the work explores the tension between desire and reality, between what we idealize and the frustration or emptiness we feel when confronting the real. The collection thus becomes a mirror of the relentless pursuit of perfection, which often turns out to be a senseless illusion.
