Between horror and beauty, “Delicate Act” is a macabre performance about burden. In the act, the artist behaves like a doll, gracefully sewing pearls onto her bust to the sound of the eternal looping of a music box playing "Für Elise", a classic by Beethoven. Sometimes, she faces difficulties when inserting the needle into the skin, but as soon as she succeeds, the artist breathes a sigh of relief.

“Delicate Act” is an ironic melancholy to this seam that shapes us within schemes that are not ours, that we don’t like and in which we don’t want to be. Sometimes we don't even realize that we occupy these places, accustomed to submitting ourselves out of necessity or lack of knowledge of other possibilities of being. In addition to the issues represented by the artist, we all, in some way, carry a burden to deal with. In this psychological thriller, dread arises in the audience during a self-analysis that is faced with the melancholy of persisting in something difficult to bear.

Addicted to “American Horror Story,” cinema plays a prominent role in influencing the performance. Presented for the first time in 2019, Panmela Castro's work gains prominence in the 12th season of 2023: “Delicade”. Problems faced by women in real life, such as gaslighting, silencing and neglect, among others, permeate the plot of the season's thriller. In Aronofsky's “Black Swan”, another reference, the ballet, known for its beauty, becomes a shelter from the schizophrenia of a young dancer, oppressed by a narcissistic mother in search of perfection.

In the song, Björk sews pearls onto her body in the video for "Pagan Poet". In the visual arts, the performance “Pearls to Pigs”, by Elton Panamby, is the main reference for Panmela Castro's sewing. In it, her partner, rocked by a macabre sound, sews pearls onto Elton's spine, one by one, at the same time that a white mass is regurgitated from his mouth. Panmela often declares that Elton Panamby was the trigger for her to become a performer.
