CRIVO, a perspectiva de Luisa Strina: Casa Bradesco, São Paulo
“CRIVO: Luisa Strina’s Perspective” celebrates the gallerist’s 80th birthday with iconic works of contemporary art at Casa Bradesco. The exhibition offers a new perspective on large-scale sculptures that have made history in conceptual art from the 1970s to the present day.
Curated by Marcello Dantas and Kiki Mazzucchelli, the exhibition offers an overview of conceptual art from the 1970s to the present, bringing together works by Brazilian and international artists whose careers have been followed or supported by Strina. The selection includes large-scale installations, many of which were shown only once in major institutional exhibitions.
By presenting creations from different historical moments in the same space, CRIVO allows the public to perceive how the seminal ideas of Brazilian conceptual art have transformed and gained new dimensions over time. Concepts explored in the 1970s and 1980s—such as institutional critique, experimentation with new media, and discussions around cultural identities—reappear reinterpreted in the works of contemporary artists, revealing a connecting thread across generations. This historical perspective makes the exhibition particularly significant: more than a personal tribute, CRIVO highlights the continuity of an artistic movement and invites reflection on its evolutions and enduring aspects.
