Overview
The exhibition brings together contemporary art, digital culture, and social critique. It draws on historical memes, such as the “Sanduíche-iche,” and extends to the “trenzinhos da alegria” that now circulate across social media. It also explores how humor both reflects — and shapes — the country’s politics and affections.

Curated by Clarissa Diniz and Ismael Monticelli, in collaboration with the Instagram profile @newmemeseum, the project approaches memes as a language, an art form, and a tool for social contestation.
