Overview
The 13th Mercosur Biennial proposes an equation of three concepts that seek to highlight the enigma of the unspeakable. Trauma, dream, and escape are phenomena of what cannot be said. Faced with the latency of a zeitgeist that manifests itself in the unconscious, we are confronted with questions whose answers have no verbal form. This place of poetics of a lump in the throat, of an unexpressed scream, of a kept secret is what we seek to map.

Based on this scenario, "13a Bienal do Mercosul – Trauma, Sonho e Fuga" (13th Mercosul Biennial - Trauma, Dream and Escape) is organized, presenting the work of 99 artists from 23 different countries to the public, in more than 10 cultural spaces in Porto Alegre. The exhibitions are divided between works that activate urban spaces and collective shows presented in traditional and new locations in the city. The ideas of disruption, sensory and reflective experience, and innovation guide and support the selection of works made by the curatorial team, led by General Curator Marcello Dantas and Assistant Curators Tarsila Riso, Laura Cattani, Munir Klamt, and Carolina Lauriano.

Panmela Castro's works were exhibited at the Casa de Cultura Mario Quintana, the Museum of Art of Rio Grande do Sul, the Porto Dock - Warehouse A6, and the Caldeira Institute. The artist presented a series of four spray installations on mirrors, scattered throughout different exhibition spaces.
