Aberto 1 : Única casa projetada por Oscar Niemeyer - São Paulo

5 November - 4 December 2022
Overview

ABERTO is a platform for itinerant exhibitions held in unconventional spaces - outside the traditional circuit of museums and galleries - that are open to the public throughout the duration of the event.

The initiative serves as a channel for the appreciation of the connection between art, architecture, and design, fostering a dialogue between Brazilian and international art in carefully selected spaces.

The first edition took place in the only residential project designed by Oscar Niemeyer in the city of São Paulo. Curated by Claudia Moreira Salles, Filipe Assis, and Kiki Mazzucchelli with the support of the Oscar Niemeyer Foundation, the exhibition is divided into five thematic nuclei, each located in a different area of the house, creating specific dialogues between the artworks and Niemeyer's architecture. The exhibition also features exclusively commissioned works by various artists represented by participating galleries, such as the artist Panmela Castro.
