the exhibition investigates how other contemporary artists use art to address intimate aspects of their lives
The exhibition “ A Confissão, o Diário e o Retrato” (Confession, Diary and Portrait), curated by Ademar Britto, emerges around the work of the artist José Leonilson (1957, Fortaleza - CE - 1993, São Paulo - SP), based on the marked autobiographical characteristic of his production. His works often incorporate texts and diaristic elements, reflecting a personal perspective on identity and vulnerability, and mixing the personal with the political.
Despite containing a special section dedicated to Leonilson's work, the exhibition investigates how other contemporary artists use art to address intimate aspects of their lives, including Débora Bolzsoni, Guerreiro Do Divino Amor, Johanna Calle, Maria Laet, Panmela Castro, Rafael Alonso, Seba Calfuqueo, Sergio Romagnolo And Vinicius Gerheim.
