Overview
The "HerStory" project began back in 2019, sparked by messages and testimonies the artist received from dozens of women across Brazil. These were accounts of various forms of violence, but above all, stories of resilience and overcoming adversity.

At the exhibition, developed during the artist's residency at Sesc Santa Rita, located in the historic center of Paraty, visitors can learn about stories such as that of Marta Leiro—a mother and resident of Calafate, a peripheral neighborhood of Salvador (BA)—who shares that she endured a long-term abusive relationship. Now free from violence and emotional dependence, Marta tells her story as a way to inform and support other women facing similar challenges and hardships.

In addition to paintings and testimonies, the exhibition also features the Mirror Room, where visitors are invited to express themselves freely by writing empathetic messages on mirrored surfaces; a cinema room, designed not only as a screening space but also as a place for writing personal accounts; and a video installation showing footage of the creative process behind the artworks, produced during the residency at Sesc Paraty.
